BreakLove (hereinafter "the App") is developed and provided by an individual developer (Contact: shuzhengxian@gmail.com).
Your privacy is our highest priority. The App is a secure, end-to-end encrypted tool that helps couples share private photos and videos. The App operates without any developer-owned servers, integrates no third-party SDKs, and does not collect or upload any personal information.
1. Permissions Requested and Purpose of Use
Photo Library
Accessed only when you manually tap the import button to select content from your system photo library. All content is encrypted locally on your device. The App does not access your photo library without your explicit action.
Camera (Front-Facing)
Used solely while you are viewing private content, to detect the number of people in front of the screen and prevent unauthorized viewing. All face analysis is performed locally in real time on your device. No facial images or biometric features are collected, stored, or transmitted. Intermediate data is destroyed immediately after each analysis.
Background Processing
The App uses iOS Background Processing tasks to continue uploading encrypted files to your configured cloud drive after you switch to another app, preventing large-file transfers from being interrupted. Only your encrypted data is transferred to your own cloud account. The developer has no access to any of this content.
2. No Collection, Storage, or Transmission of Personal Data
The App does not connect to any developer-owned server and does not integrate any analytics, advertising, crash-reporting, or third-party SDK. The App does not collect any of the following:
- Device identifiers (IDFA, IDFV, etc.)
- Facial biometric data
- Original photos, videos, or their metadata (raw content never leaves the encrypted sandbox)
- Usage behavior, activity logs, crash reports, or diagnostic data
- Any personally identifiable information (PII)
Note on Cloud Drive Transfers: "No developer server" means the developer maintains no server infrastructure. When you configure Nutstore or a custom WebDAV cloud drive, the App uploads end-to-end encrypted ciphertext to your own cloud account. The developer cannot access your cloud drive or decrypt any of its contents. Your cloud service provider (e.g., Nutstore) has its own independent privacy policy — please refer to their terms.
3. Encryption and Storage of Photos & Videos
- All imported content is encrypted locally using a unique key derived from both devices' fingerprints + a shared joint password. Each device pair produces a unique key.
- Encrypted files are stored exclusively within the App's private sandbox and will not appear in the system photo library, "Recently Deleted" folder, or the Files App.
- Encryption is device-bound, non-portable, and non-recoverable: data cannot be decrypted if copied to another device, if the App is reinstalled, or by the developer.
- No backdoors exist. The developer has no ability to access or decrypt any of your content.
4. Screenshot & Screen Recording Detection · "Once a Cheater" Mode
To protect both parties' privacy, the App detects screenshots, screen recordings, and screen mirroring:
- First screenshot: The other party receives a warning notification. The App applies a privacy overlay to obscure the content of the screenshot.
- Second screenshot: The "Once a cheater, always a cheater" mode is triggered — all locally stored encrypted content is permanently deleted and the pairing relationship is dissolved, with no possibility of recovery. This mechanism is a core part of the App's privacy protection design. By using this App, you acknowledge and accept this behavior.
5. Data Sharing and International Transfer
No data sharing. No cross-border transfers. All content remains on your device and in the cloud storage you personally configured. The developer holds no user data of any kind.
6. Your Privacy Rights
In accordance with applicable privacy laws — including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and the Personal Information Protection Law of the People's Republic of China (PIPL) — you have the right to be informed, to access, to correct, to delete, and to restrict the processing of your personal data. Since the developer holds no personal information about you, you may exercise these rights directly by:
- Revoking Camera or Photo Library permissions at any time in your device's system Settings.
- Uninstalling the App — because the encryption key is device-bound, all locally stored encrypted data will be permanently and irrecoverably destroyed upon uninstallation. This is by design.
To exercise any other rights or submit a privacy inquiry, contact us at: shuzhengxian@gmail.com. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe.
7. Policy Updates
We may update this policy in response to changes in laws, regulations, or App functionality. As the App has no backend server, we cannot proactively notify you of changes. Please periodically check the latest version via the "Privacy Policy" link within the App. Continued use of the App after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
